Troubleshooting - Original Dawn Clock


The screen is showing “Time set error”?

Select MENU on the back of the clock.

Scroll down to each Predawn Time Set, Morning Time Set, Afternoon Time Set, Evening Time Set and Night Time Set.

These times need to be sequential (and not overlapping) in a 24 hour time format.

An example of common time settings:

  • Predawn Time Set “00”
  • Morning Time Set “04”
  • Afternoon Time Set “12”
  • Evening Time Set “17”
  • Night Time Set “21”

The main screen has changed from “Calendar mode” to “Now It’s mode”?

To swap between the modes press the OK button.

I am stuck on the wrong language how do I change it back?

Press Menu.

Scroll down to LANGUAGE by pressing the DOWN button four times.

Press OK.

Select preferred language to display by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT buttons.

To exit press the MENU button.

How do I get started?

Remove the protective film covering the LCD.

Plug one end of the included AC adapter into a standard 100-240V AC electrical outlet and the other end into the DC in of the Dawn Clock, at which time it will automatically power on.

After a few seconds the startup picture will show and then the calendar screen.

How do I change the time?

Press Menu and on SET TIME press OK.

Change the hour by pressing UP or DOWN buttons.

Then press the RIGHT arrow button to highlight the minutes, press the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust.

To exit press the MENU button.

How do I set the date?

Press Menu and press the DOWN button to select SET DATE then press OK.

Press UP or DOWN and across buttons to adjust.

To exit press the MENU button.

How do I adjust the time mode to 12 or 24 hour?

Select time mode >12 HR or 24 HR

Select by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT or OK buttons.

To exit press the MENU button.

How do I change the language?

Press Menu.

Scroll down to LANGUAGE.

Select preferred language to display by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT buttons.

To exit press the MENU button.

How do I set a reminder?

You can choose to set up to x 14 alarms for different times, with different messages. The appointment alarm also has a DATE function.

Scroll down to ALARM TIME setting to select your reminders and the times that you want them to ring.

To choose the message you want for each alarm:

> Press the RIGHT button twice until you get to “PS” (which has the MESSAGE settings)

> Press the OK button, and choosing one of the messages that come up in the screen. You can also choose NO MESSAGE, in which case the alarm with ring without showing a message (Alarms 1-5 only). > Press the OK button to select message.

Choose whether you want an alarm On or Off by pressing the RIGHT button until you get to “OFF”

> Press up or down to select then press the OK button.

Press the MENU button to exit the settings screen. Your selections have been saved. The alarm will ring for 50 seconds at the designated time and then turn off on its own, or you can manually shut it off by pressing any button on the back of the clock.

Reminder Message Options (Find under “PS” in alarm settings):

Medication Alarm Times (ALARM TIME 1-5)

NO MESSAGE (just sound)
